About Anne

Anne is a watercolour artist whose work begins on the trail.

Her subjects come from places reached and details noticed while travelling through mountain and backcountry landscapes. She photographs the terrain, changing light, plants, water and night skies that catch her attention, then returns to the studio to work from those references.

Watercolour allows Anne to move beyond a literal record of the scene. She softens rugged landscapes into washes of pigment and paper, keeping the character of a real place while painting the feeling of having been there.

Her growing collection moves between mountain landscapes, botanical studies and night skies. Through Painted Trail Publishing, these paintings become fine art prints that offer a lasting connection to the backcountry.
